Compassionate Communication Skills – Nederland Practice Group
The Compassionate Communication group in Nederland aspires to Marshall Rosenberg’s work on Compassionate Communication, otherwise known as Nonviolent Communication (or NVC for short).
The communication skills practiced by the group are well suited to effective communication among nonprofit board and staff members.
Through use of CC, individuals learn to take more responsibility for their ‘issues’, to blame and judge other people less, and to achieve win-win solutions by identifying needs that are common to all parties.
The Nederland group is loosely connected to the Rocky Mountain Compassionate Communication Center (RMCCC), and draws on RMCCC trainers for guidance and support.
The group welcomes participation from anyone in the community, and uses their meeting times to practice and discuss practical challenges encountered in everyday life.
