Social Venture Partners is offering a fundamentals of board governance training in Nederland, on Tuesday May 5, 8-10 am, at the very reasonable cost of $30/$24 (see details below).
Board members who have attended recent SVP trainings with the presenter, Emily Davis, have been extremely pleased these trainings (!). We hope that as many board members and directors as possible will attend this event!
SVP offers the reduced $24 price (normally $30) to organizations who purchase an 8 pack (contact Olga at SVP). NANA has arranged the $24 price for any Nederland-area nonprofit staff/board member, through TEENS Inc (bring your check to TEENS Inc and speak with Stephen LeFaiver regarding registration; registration deadline: TBA ). Whether you are interested in joining a board, you are a first time board member, or a veteran board member the foundational elements for board service are essential. Join us for a discussion on governance best practices Session objectives include:
- Grasp governing roles and responsibilities
- Clarify expectations and commitments in board leadership
- Ask questions to serve the mission and govern effectively
The Presenter:
Emily Davis is the President of Emily Davis Consulting, Fundraising and the Next Generation author; 21/64 multigenerational family philanthropy consultant; and BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer. Emily currently serves as Vice Chair for Social Venture Partners Boulder County, Board member for Social Venture Partners International, and Founding Curator for Global Shapers’ Boulder Hub. She provides consulting, publications, speaking, and training for nonprofit and philanthropic leaders on board governance, charitable advising, digital communications, and fundraising. She has her Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University and serves as an adjunct professor in the program.”
